| The Alton Park is a portable mural/banner painted on cloth measuring 6ft. by 25 ft. Twenty-five young artists from the Alton Park Recreation Center were asked to indicate on a large white canvas where the main roads were in their neighborhood. They then drew in their favorite places, their homes, landmarks, etc. The piece was painted and finished as a colorful abstraction which was made available to the community for events. This project was funded in part by an Arts Build Chattanooga Neighborhoods Grant of the Allied Arts of Greater Chattanooga and a Community Development Block Grant from the City of Chattanooga. |
