| Frances has taught 5th grade art class at Calvin Donaldson Elementary as an Artist in Residence funded by a grant from North American Royalties for the past three years.. At the beginning of the 2002 academic year, she asked her fith grade students if they would like to paint her van. What is art and what is vision were the topics of the following class; close attention was paid to the anatomy of the eyeball itself. Fifteen students drew studies on paper and then on the van itself. These talented and swift artists finished the painted mural in roughly two class sessions. |
